Bad Moon - One of My Nightmares

( source : Youtube )

I was likely a teenager when I first watched this spine-chilling horror movie, not on YouTube but through a CD player on my TV. I can't recall how I got the CD, but the film left a lasting impact. It was terrifying.  unlike today’s films with advanced technology, it was made mostly with practical effects. I was scared to death, while watching the movie!

The hero of the story is a dog—yes, a dog—that bravely protects a family from a werewolf. The dog knows who is transforming and the lurking danger in the woods. Unfortunately, the family misunderstands the dog and sends it to a shelter. A boy runs to the shelter, helps it escape, and the dog races home just in time to save its owner from the werewolf. The showdown between the dog and the werewolf gave me goosebumps. Dog is the guardian here.

The werewolf’s appearance was so terrifying, and the woods added to the film’s eerie atmosphere. The acting, including the dog’s, was excellent, and while I’m unsure about the VFX, the practical effects were stellar. The direction, dialogues, crisp editing, and background score elevated the movie to another level.

I’d love to watch it again, not just to relive the fear but also for the nostalgia. If you plan to watch with family, be cautious about some adult scenes in the beginning. It's definitely worth a watch if you haven’t seen it already!
