Midnight Murders (Anjaam Pathiraa ) - A very good thriller

Last night, I watched Midnight Murders and found it to be a thoroughly gripping thriller. Like many crime thrillers, it follows a familiar narrative structure: there's usually a flashback that explains why the killer became a serial killer, a series of brutal murders, and finally, a twist that reveals the identity of the murderer. While this formula is common in the genre, what sets each thriller apart—and keeps you hooked—is the way the story is told.

What truly makes these films stand out is not just the plot itself but how well the story, setup, screenplay, acting, direction, and background music are executed. Midnight Murders excels in each of these areas, with a suspenseful narrative that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The performances, particularly the portrayal of the killer, are well-crafted, making the film both unpredictable and engaging. It's this perfect blend of elements that makes thrillers so enjoyable, even when the overall plot structure feels familiar.

The night scenes in Midnight Murders are exceptionally well done, and I loved the way the vehicle setup was enhanced with the eerie red lighting, creating a haunting atmosphere. The killer’s mask also added a chilling visual element, contributing to the overall tension of the film. These subtle details have a subconscious impact on the audience, heightening the suspense and psychological intensity without needing to rely on overt scares.

I won’t give away too much, but if you have the time, this film is definitely worth a watch. It’s a thriller that justifies your time with its engaging visuals and storytelling.
